MINNESOTA

In the 2024 general election in Minnesota, the Democratic ticket prevailed in the presidential race with Kamala Harris winning the state’s 10 electoral votes after receiving about 50.9 % of the vote versus Donald Trump’s roughly 46.7 %.

Meanwhile, in the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Democrat Amy Klobuchar secured a comfortable fourth term, defeating Republican Royce White by around 15-points.

In the U.S. House contests, each party held onto its four seats—4 Democrats and 4 Republicans—despite very close overall vote totals (Democrats about 50.2 % and Republicans about 49.3 %).

At the state legislative level, the Minnesota House of Representatives ended in a rare tie (67-67) between Republicans and the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party, shifting the balance of power after Republicans flipped three seats.

Overall, Minnesota remained in Democratic hands at the top of the ticket, but the margin narrowed and the state’s politics showed signs of growing competitiveness.
